Govt enhances die employees' families’ package: minister


ISLAMABAD - State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on Tuesday informed National Assembly that government enhanced the package for the families of the government employees, who die during service.

Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Ms Khalida Mansoor, Ms Surriya Asghar and Shazia Ashfaq Mattu, he said that the prime minister enhanced pension of widow of the employees who died during service from 75 per cent to 100 per cent.

The widow and children of the deceased can enjoy official accommodation till the age of superannuation of deceased employees. The package also envisages providing free education to the children of the deceased employees up to higher level, besides giving them a free plot.

The medical of the widow would be free and an amount of Rs 800,000 would be given to her on the marriage of her daughter. Employment would be given to widows or widowers, one son or daughter to the posts in BS 01 to 15, on regular basis without advertisement against the post criteria of which applicant fulfills. A committee headed by the finance secretary has been constituted to calculate financial implications of the package. The package would be implemented after receiving the report of the special committee.
