Government making serious efforts to overcome all challenges: PM


Karachi- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said the Government is making serious efforts, to overcome numerous challenges being faced by the country.

He was addressing the Karachi Stock Exchange awards ceremony in Karachi today. The Prime Minister said we have to work hard to correct things and steer the country out of crisis. He said economic revival is a major challenge, which cannot be overcome without overcoming the shortage of energy.  He said that is why the Government is focusing on overcoming energy shortage. It has initiated different projects for this purpose.

Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar said the government is playing a role of facilitator and providing enabling environment to business community, for economic progress of the country.  He said today's Pakistan is better, than it was in May 2013 and will further be better in the next three years.  He said our resolve to implement reform agenda is inflexible.
Finance Minister said all economic indicators are showing positive trend, as a result of prudent policies and strict financial discipline adopted by the Government.  He said inflation is at the lowest level in thirteen years, GDP growth is at higher level in six years and foreign exchange reserves have crossed sixteen billion dollars.
Chairman Securities Exchange Commission Zafar Hijazi and Chairman Karachi Stock Exchange Muneer Kamal also spoke on the occasion.  They appreciated Government's efforts to improve law and order situation in the country and said it will boost business activities.  They lauded economic policies of the Government. Later, the Prime Minister distributed awards to the best performed business companies.
