Dasti’s cycle march leaves for Islamabad

Independent member of National Assembly from Muzaffargarh Jamshed Khan Dasti left Multan for Islamabad via Khanewal, Mian Channu, Chichawatni, Sahiwal, Okara, Lahore, Gujrat, Jehlum and Rawalpindi along with his supporters on bicycles to table Ehtasab Bill in National Assembly. Dasti begun his cycle march from Muzaffargarh to press the government for launching an across the board accountability and end corruption from the country. He is scheduled to stay at Khanewal for one night.
Talking to the journalists here at Multan Press Club on Thursday, he lashed out at the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and demanded his arrest. He alleged that the MQM patronized killers and criminals and therefore strict action should be taken against them. He said that Altaf Hussain and MQM had got unveiled and therefore their cases should be sent to military courts.
He also criticized Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and demanded him to present himself for accountability. He alleged that the Chairman NAB had acquired two and a half morabba agricultural land in Muzaffargarh, asking him to explain as to where he got money from to purchase this land. He said that instead of staging the drama of inaugurating new offices of NAB, real accountability of the corrupt should be launched.
Referring to his accountability bill, he said that death penalty should be given to those, whose corruption is proved. He added that the bill demanded ban on capitalists and landlords’ participation in politics as well as setting the age limit of parliamentarians at 68 years.  He said that the bill would also demand establishment of accountability courts at district level and decision of cases in two months as well as parliamentarians’ salary should be equal to a labourer’s salary.
