ISLAMABAD - Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has discovered oil from its exploratory well-Palli Deep-1, located in district Tando Allah Yar, Sindh province.
Managing Director OGDCL, Muhammad Rafi addressing a press conference here at OGDCL head office on Wednesday said that the structure of Well Palli Deep-1 was delineated, drilled and tested using OGDCL’s in house expertise. He said that the well was drilled down to the depth of 4050 meters. MD OGDCL said that significant reserves of oil have been found at Well Palli Deep-1 in (Basal Sand and Middle Sand) lower Goru Sand formation which produced 1095 barrels of oil per day at 32/64” choke size.
He said that the discovery will add remarkable reserves to the reserve base of the company. He said that soon commercial production at well would be started and the approach road would be constructed soon. He said that the company’s success rate is very good and is working on exploration on more than 63 blocks.
He said that Soghri-1 was connected with the oil supply system by laying down pipeline in a short span of three months. MD OGDCL said that efforts are in progress to explore new oil and gas reserves. He said the company has also discovered new reserves of shale gas which is a good sign.
