MULTAN - Agriculture department urged farmers to take steps for controlling diseases’ attack at sun flower crop in order to get bumper crop.
Assistant Director Information Naveed Asmat Kohloon here Wednesday told APP that Charcoal Rot disease was attacking at inner portion of trunk. The disease attack caused to blacken inner as well as outer portion of trunk, he said and added the disease also rendered roots of the plant dried. He stated that the disease usually attacked the plant after emergence of flowers on it. He proposed farmers to irrigate the crop in order to counter attack of dried-ness.
He also urged upon farmers to contact agriculture department in case of any issue related to the crop.
